Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Your Mau Africa guide meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport for the transfer to your Arusha hotel. Take the evening to rest beneath Mount Meru and receive a short briefing on the journey ahead.
Days 2–8: Machame Route climb
Seven days from rainforest to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) with your private mountain crew.
Day 9: Arusha → Tarangire National Park
Drive about two hours to Tarangire for an afternoon game drive among baobabs and the park's famous elephant herds, then continue to your camp or lodge.
Day 10: Into the Serengeti
Climb through the Ngorongoro highlands and descend onto the endless plains. Game drive en route to central Serengeti, arriving in time for sundowners.
Day 11: Serengeti → Karatu
A final morning game drive, then return through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the cool, green highlands around Karatu.
Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha
Early descent into the crater for a half-day game drive, then return to Arusha in the late afternoon for your onward journey.
